Smt. NCS RavaliSmt. NCS Ravali
Smt. NCS Ravali was initiated and trained in Carnatic music by her father, the late Shri N C Lakshmanacharuyulu, and her paternal aunt Smt. N C Vani. After finishing her undergraduate studies in Computer Science she moved to Chennai and trained under her illustrious gurus Smt. Ranjani and Smt. Gayatri. She is currently training under Vidwan Sri Delhi P Sunderrajan.
She finished her Masters and M.Phil in Indian music from the University of Madras and is a rank holder of her batch. She recently finished her second Masters in Carnatic music from the University of SiliconAndhra, and also completed the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya's Sangeetha Visharada.
Ravali has trained many students over the past decade and has served as a faculty member of the Raaga School of Music. She has performed concerts at various esteemed organizations in India and abroad, received the Indian Raga Fellowship in 2015, and has collaborated with musicians across genres. She has provided vocal support to accomplished dancers and arangetrams, conducted several lecture demonstrations in Carnatic music, and served as an examiner and jury member for a number of music exams and competitions.
Apurvaa Anand
Apurvaa Anand is a vocal and violin student of Vidushi Smt. Anuradha Sridhar, Founder and Director of Trinity Center for Music. She is the great-granddaughter of Sangitha Kalanidhi T.K. Jayarama Iyer.
Apurvaa has won several prizes in competitions including the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana and the Papanasam Sivan festival. She has performed solos, duets and accompanied artists across the United States and India.
A trained Western violinist, Apurvaa was the concert master for her high school orchestra and her university orchestra. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where she received dual degrees in Neuroscience and Information Science, and now works in the Bay Area.
Apurvaa AnandUmesh
Umesh is a dedicated young artist of Carnatic percussion. He has been learning ghatam from Vidwan Sri Chandrasekara Sharma for the past two years, and has been learning mridangam from his father, Sri Gopi Lakshminarayanan, from a very young age. He has won accolades in several competitions and is a regular performer during the prestigious Chennai music season.
Alongside ghatam and mridangam, Umesh is also learning Carnatic vocal music under the guidance of Sri Kolkata Vijayaraghavan. He is currently a rising junior at UC Berkeley and continues to serve as a key youth volunteer for Indian music-based nonprofit organizations, contributing to the promotion of Carnatic music through his involvement with organizations such as RagaN and Laya of Berkeley.
